Di Mackay, Myrtle & Bracken

Myrtle & Bracken was founded by Di, a florist with a long-standing love of seasonal flowers, thoughtful design and doing things properly. With years of experience working across weddings, events and studio floristry, her approach is grounded in craftsmanship, calm professionalism and an instinctive understanding of how flowers behave and how to make them look effortless. She believes the best floral design feels natural, never forced, and enhances a space rather than shouting over it.

Daughter of a Dairy Farmer, her creative sanctuary is a large byre and barn in the heart of the Ayrshire countryside.

Myrtle & Bracken is a botanical studio specialising in refined, seasonal floristry for weddings and meaningful occasions.

Based in Ayrshire, we work across Scotland, creating floral designs for castles, country houses, private estates and beautifully off-the-beaten-path venues. We are equally at home in barns, byres and private homes. Our style is natural yet considered, romantic without being fussy, elegant without feeling overworked.

We are known for florals that feel effortless, but make no mistake: everything we create is thoughtfully planned, expertly constructed and grounded in years of experience.

We believe flowers should feel honest.

That means working with the seasons, favouring British-grown blooms wherever possible, and designing in a way that respects both the flowers and the spaces they’re placed in. Every arrangement is created with balance, movement and longevity in mind, nothing stiff, nothing forced.
